Football Fans Demand IU Cancel Concert At Seoul World Cup Stadium After Footballer Son Heung Min Complained About Grass Conditions There

Football Fans Are Upset With Concert Announcement

Football fans are demanding that South Korean pop star IU cancel her upcoming concert at the Seoul World Cup Stadium after Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min complained about the pitch conditions there in the wake of South Korea's 0-0 draw with Uruguay in a friendly on Friday.

Son said the pitch was "not good" and that it was "difficult to play" on.

Petition For Cancellation

A petition has been launched on the website of the Cheong Wa Dae, the official residence of the President of South Korea, calling for IU's concert to be canceled.

The petition has garnered over 100,000 signatures in just a few days.

Tottenham Hotspur Supporters Group Backs Petition

The Tottenham Hotspur Supporters Group has also backed the petition, saying that the club is "very concerned" about the condition of the pitch at the Seoul World Cup Stadium.

The group said it is "unacceptable" that the pitch is not in good condition for a match of this importance.

IU's Agency Responds

IU's agency, EDAM Entertainment, has responded to the petition, saying that it is "aware of the concerns" and that it is "taking them seriously."

The agency said it is "working with the stadium authorities" to ensure that the pitch is in good condition for IU's concert.

Concert To Go Ahead As Planned

Despite the petition and the concerns of Tottenham Hotspur, IU's concert is still scheduled to go ahead as planned on September 17.

It remains to be seen whether the condition of the pitch will affect the quality of IU's performance.
