Lions Come From Behind To Win A Thriller

Brisbane Lions beat Carlton Blues to reach AFL Grand Final

Lions come from behind to win a thriller

The Brisbane Lions have powered into their first AFL Grand Final since 2004, overcoming a 30-point deficit to defeat the Carlton Blues by 10 points in a thrilling preliminary final at the Gabba.

The Blues were unstoppable early, kicking the first three goals of the game and leading by 24 points at quarter-time. But the Lions fought back in the second quarter, kicking four goals to two to trail by just 10 points at the main break.

The third quarter was a see-sawing affair, with both teams kicking three goals. But the Lions took control in the final quarter, kicking three goals to one to run out 10-point winners.

The win was a stunning turnaround for the Lions, who were 30 points down at the start of the third quarter. But they showed great character and resilience to come back and win the game.

The Lions will now face the Melbourne Demons in the AFL Grand Final next Saturday at the MCG.
